Obsidian Stout Spice Cake

Yield: 12 servings

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup Obsidian Stout

Butter and flour a 9-inch baking pan. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl, combine liquid ingredients. Slowly whisk in liquid to dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour into prepared pan.

Place in 350 degree oven for 40-50 minutes (check center of cake with a toothpick, it should come out clean).

Serve with Jubel Ale ice cream.
