Hi! My name is Stephanie Zonis, and welcome to the April, 2002 edition
of "For Chocolate Lovers Only". Each month, youll
find recipes, tips, and recommendations on great chocolate specialties.
Chocolate Recommendation of the Month: Its my guess
that the nice folks at Websters Dictionary werent thinking
about food when they defined terms like habit-forming,
but thats only because they werent confronted with Toffolos
at the time. And what, you ask, is a Toffolo? Mrs. Weinsteins
Toffee produces single-bite-sized pieces of toffee, then covers
them with milk, dark, or marbleized milk-dark-white chocolate. The
results are shiny, pretty, definitely chocolate, and abandon-hope-all-ye-who-enter-here
compelling. They are of a perfect size to pop into your mouth, and
theres something about the combination of the crunchy, sweet
toffee and the thick, smooth chocolate that results in disappointingly-empty
packages in record time. I adore the Original flavor, but for the
more adventurous there are also Chocolate Mint or Cookies &
Cream varieties.
But Mrs. Weinsteins Toffee doesnt stop there;
they also offer a dark chocolate-covered assortment of almonds,
hazelnuts, and pecans. In addition, they makemore toffee!
You can choose almond, hazelnut, or pistachio toffee, all covered
in milk chocolate. Most of these products come in several sizes,
and I especially like the clever cube boxes for the Toffolos. Looking
for a delightful gift for Mothers Day, Fathers Day,
or your favorite college student studying hard for finals? This
company is a fine place to start your quest. Its easy to reach
Mrs. Weinsteins Toffee by phone (toll-free at 866-965-0422),
fax (805-965-8123) or at their website (www.mwtoffee.com); online
ordering is available. Just make sure you leave some of those Toffolos
for me!
Do you have a comment, question, or suggestion? Id like to
hear it. You can reach me at: sdziadwm@nac.net.
Because I receive too much junk e-mail these days, please specify
that youre writing about something chocolate. Thank you!
