A Three Day Festival of Food & Wine

San Patrignano, Italy
This September San Patrignano, located in the Italian providence
of Rimini, will celebrate its third annual food and wine festival,
Squisito. This year Squisito is dedicated to social, economic
and cultural issues related to food production. The event
takes place on the grounds of San Patrignano, Europe’s
largest drug abuse treatment center. Commited to ending addiction,
this facility offers free shelter and rehabilitation for those
who suffer from substance abuse. Featuring 120 stands of some
of the finest gastronomic products, 12 tasting areas of endangered
foods, and 18 workshops taught by world-class chefs, this
event is sure to be one of the largest and comprehensive food
festivals in Europe.
Event highlights:
- Slow Food presents Terra Madre: a tasting of 12 Italian
and international food products near extinction
- Daily Wine tasting including “Sangiovese Day”
- International Cooking Competition with a focus on “first
class menu on a budget”
- Cooking demonstrations and seminars from top international
chefs including Massimo Bottura, Moreno Cedroni, Valentino
Mercatilli, and Davide Oldani
