| “Cocktails, like food, should be culinary experiences,” says Kim Haasarud, author of 101 Margaritas and 101 Martinis (Wiley and Sons, 2006), “it’s about combining ingredients to create a sensation on the palate and entice all the senses with a combination of flavors, textures, aromas, and garnishes.” Haasarud bartended her way through college and found that it became a creative outlet and sparked an enduring passion for building great cocktails, one that Haasarud still longed to indulge after graduating and going to work in film and television. She found her opportunity in the many industry parties she attended, “the drinks and the bars were always the same and always boring, despite very creative food and themes,” says Haasarud. “I knew if I could get behind the bar, I could create exceptional cocktails that would add a new dimension to each event.” Haasarud formed her company, Liquid Architecture as a result.
