Rose
Levy Berenbaum has a B.S. and M.A. cum laude in food science and the
culinary arts. She also studied art and design at the Fashion Institute
of Technology in New York City.
A frequent
contributor to all the major food magazines and The New York Times,
she also writes a syndicated food column for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate
and is a consultant to the baking and chocolate industries. For ten
years, she was also the owner/director of the Cordon Rose Cooking School
in New York.
Her books
include the 1988 bestseller, The Cake Bible, winner of the IACP/Seagram
Book of the Year and the National Association for the Specialty Food
Trade Showcase Award, as well as Rose's Christmas Cookies in 1990, winner
of the James Beard Best Book in the Dessert and Baking Category; Rose's
Celebrations in 1992; Rose's Melting Pot in 1993; and the recently released
The Pie and Pastry Bible.
