Chloé Grigri talked for years about opening her own wine bar. Originally from Philadelphia, Grigri spent much of her childhood in France and worked in restaurants from an early age. After working on the corporate side of the fashion industry, Grigri was sick of the office environment and, along with her father, found a space to open their own restaurant. In November 2013, the father-daughter duo opened The Good King Tavern, where Grigri learned to manage front-of-house operations, and in 2019, they opened their wine bar, Le Caveau.
Vincent Stipo cooked in kitchens every summer of his youth, from middle school to high school, until he went off to Boston University to study hospitality. Stipo, though, wanted to move from the kitchen to the floor. He started waiting tables at Eastern Standard and took his first management job at Deuxave. Then, Stipo moved to Philadelphia to help open Vernick Food & Drink as the assistant general manager. In 2015, he left the restaurant industry and went to work in commercial real estate, aiding restaurateurs in a different way, focusing on restaurant leasing and hospitality consulting.
Stipo and Grigri, who first met in 2014, have brought their skills together. After the success of The Good King Tavern and Le Caveau, Stipo and Grigri wanted to build something new, something that reflected them as a couple. Superfolie opened in March 2023. Anchored in French cuisine but inspired by their world travels, the bar is inviting and mindful, as is the wine list and food menu. Now, they are planning their next concept, Superette, a French market and wine bar set to open summer 2024. With a hospitality-driven team, Stipo and Grigri are eager to continue expanding their vision and their group, Bad Baguette Hospitality, across Philadelphia.
