New York City. For us, these three words have always been synonymous with the idea of following your dreams.

Having grown up in Korea, New York was portrayed in movies and TV shows as a dazzling place filled with global trendsetters. It was the poshest of cities, one that never sleeps. The day we first set foot in New York, our hearts were filled with excitement and anticipation. Everything was new and, in this vibrant city where diverse cultures blend seamlessly, we decided to trust it with our future. That’s how Atomix and Atoboy were born

New York is a city where cultures from all over the world not only come together, but they also thrive. Our goal here was to honor our traditions and values while reimagining our culture through the vibrant energy of the city. Like colorful paint on a blank canvas, our dreams grew bigger and bolder.

Every day, we gave more than just effort—we poured our hearts into cooking, service, and storytelling through the art and language of restaurants. Despite the challenges, it was the exhilarating passion and happiness that pushed us to grow. What began as a small seed—“ato”—has now blossomed into a sturdy, thriving tree under the New York sky.

Running a restaurant, being a chef, and serving others is more than just a profession—it’s the art of transforming life into something extraordinary. This art enriches us, nourishes our guests and community, and leaves a legacy that crosses generations and borders. We believe that our industry’s work holds deep meaning, making a positive impact on the lives of others.

As we reflect on our journey, we also want to share some thoughts with our fellow hospitality professionals in this great city. To those just starting: stay humble, open-minded, and embrace the challenges that come your way. New York can be tough, but it's full of opportunities.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed the restaurant industry in New York change in incredible ways. Some may say that fine dining is a thing of the past, but we see it as evolving; taking on new forms that reflect the present. Today's dining is not just about the meal, it’s a narrative of culture, a meaningful thread woven into the fabric of who we are. As automation and AI reshape the world, the essence of fine cuisine and hospitality remains an art form that no machine can replace. It’s not just about food; it’s about connection, meaning, and the beauty we bring to the table through our passion and creativity.

We are deeply grateful for our lives and the city we love. The two of us may have started as foreigners, but now New York has become our home. It’s the place where our dreams have taken root and become reality. In this city where cultures coexist and grow, we hope everyone here can chase their dreams and experience the joy of bringing them to life.
